About us

Highly educated entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs in the Copenhagen Region

An innovation cooperation
The partners in the project cooperate on creating the next generation of highly educated workforce. Next Generation can offer students and teachers education and councelling in entrepreneurship. We want to create better opportunities for implementing entrepreneurship at the universities.

Mission
Next Generation is a cooperation between the three universities that are known for having taken the lead in their respective disciplines, as well as a number of experienced organisations within innovation and development support.

The partners cover most of the higher educational area, and when united they are able to offer education, advice and practical guidance to students, educators and the business community in the innovation food chain: From the moment the student experiences an interest in the subject, and until the recent graduate is ready to start his or her own business or to become an intrapreneur by creating innovation in an already established company.

What we aim to do

Up to now, entrepreneurship has not been implemented in the day to day tuition at the universities, but it has only been offered as elective courses. The mission of the project Next Generation is to integrate entrepreneurship elements in already established courses – and by doing so combining innovation and entrepreneurship to the academic environment. By mobilizing educators who have not been active users of innovation and entrepreneurship in their teaching, the project aims at creating changes in the dominant culture as well as in the practical approach in order to increase knowledge-based growth creation.

How to do it
We aim at strengthening students' possibilities for developing new qualifications and talents within the subject, for example through courses, seminars, conferences and summer schools.

Already planned activities include:
  • A corps of teachers who will raise the level of tuition in entrepreneurship
  • Practical training and mentoring will give university students experience within entrepreneurship as well as within development and management of projects of change.
  • International conferences will win attention in regards to Copenhagen as a region of growth.
