The Teaching Corps
The teaching program is ready to launch its second round to begin in the fall of 2011. Soon, we will be able to introduce the next team of educators, who will learn how to bring entrepreneurial elements into effect.
The framework for the second sequence of the entrepreneurial teaching programme has been established, and the new round will begin after the summer break.
The first team of educators has completed the programme, and by gathering all valuable experiences from this, we have been able to create a revised design. This design includes more teamwork across the separate disciplines in order for the participating educators to develop their own courses, to use several new tools and methods and share experiences with the other educators in the corps.
The aim of the programme is to link entrepreneurship and practical elements with university tuition – regardless of the disciplinary area. This is to provide students across disciplines with the possibility of acquiring entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial competences and link this to their particular education.
Key to this programme is that the educational standards of each university course remain unchanged. The entrepreneurial perspective serves as value adding to the course for students as well as educators.
After a trip to London with the present team of educators of the corps, we found that procedures from other universities such as Oxford, London Business School and Kingston University are not directly transferable to the Danish university system. The visions behind the entrepreneurial programme in Next Generation have simply not been tested at otherwise leading institutions in England. Moreover, the answer is not something that can easily be found by looking it up in a book. For that reason the Teaching Corps receive tailored training and coaching in order to ensure integration between the existing course material and the newly acquired inputs.
The programme offers 6 paid courses to applicants from CBS, DTU or KU. Educators from other universities are free to apply and will have to find funding for the programme adding up to DKK 25,000.
